Lower humidity and temperatures in the low 70s are expected today before storms move into the area Thursday.
"Today will be great compared to the weekend and even yesterday," said Storm 7 Center Meteorologist Rich Wirdzek.
Today will be an average day for this time of the year, he said.
As early as late Thursday afternoon, rain will be arriving from the southwest. A storm system will likely bring a much needed soaking to the majority of the area, he said. Thursday morning will be chilly with a low around 50.
Scattered showers will linger into Friday morning with a low in the 50s. The high will be 71, he said.

Police are investigating two separate break-ins at local businesses, according to police.
Both the Aaron’s store, 2425 East Main Street, and Cash & Carry Food Mart, 1910 Mitchell Blvd., were both broken into Wednesday morning.
The owner of Cash & Carry Food Mart, Nick Patel, said surveillance footage showed someone backed their vehicle into the business, breaking the front windows and doors. He said it looked like the suspects attempted to steal the ATM machine.
In the ten years he's owned the store, Patel said he's had a few break-ins, but nothing as destructive as this. He said the store will probably be closed until he gets the debris cleaned up and the windows and doors replaced.
It’s unknown if anything was taken from Aaron's or if the cases are related.
Springfield Police are still investigating the incidents.
One woman is dead and another woman was injured in a fire on Germantown Street early Wednesday morning.
Crews were dispatched around 4:30 a.m. to the 2400 block of Germantown Street. When crews arrived there were no visible flames, just smoke, but once crews opened up the structure the flames erupted, firefighters said.
Firefighters forced their way into the house when they arrived and found both women near the door. Both women were removed from the home and one died on her way to the hospital. The second woman is in stable condition at Miami Valley Hospital.
Early indications suggest the fire is accidental, but investigators are on scene trying to determine a cause to the blaze. The fire likely started in a bedroom, according to reports.
